Posting the same article in different blogs or websites

Many people say that you will get in trouble with Google if you post the same article in different blogs or websites, there are many experts that tell you that Google will not rank you first or that you will get disputes if you post your own articles from ezine articles for example in your blogs.

Here is the truth from ezine articles:

Hi Mili,

You can submit your articles to any other site that you would like to.

One thing we recommend when doing so, is to associate the articles with the author name so there won't be any disputes when it comes to content similar to another source.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Thank you,
Vanessa

All you need to do is make sure you include the authors name so it is not similar content in another source, which Google disputes.

Hope this was useful to everybody

  1. Nice post -- I have a feeling the contact from Ezine might not be sharing the full story though ...

    From Google:

"Syndicate carefully: If you syndicate your content on other sites, Google will always show the version we think is most appropriate for users in each given search, which may or may not be the version you'd prefer..."

Ezine doesn't have a problem with you posted articles elsewhere because chances are their site will outrank yours and users will click their version of the article.

"However, it is helpful to ensure that each site on which your content is syndicated includes a link back to your original article. You can also ask those who use your syndicated material to block the version on their sites with robots.txt."

I'm certainly no mega-expert in SEO, but I know my fair share -- posting the same article in multiple places isn't exactly the best idea. If you absolutely must do it, then be sure to add fresh commentary within the post so the readers of that version of the article have something different than the readers at the other version.

    From What isn't Duplicate Content:

"Similarly, you shouldn't worry about occasional snippets (quotes and otherwise) being flagged as duplicate content."

  2. Hi Mili

Nice post. Lets assume that no one has an issue with posting the same content.

Now Lets say we do a search on the keyword related to your post. Now all your content would come up. Would you love to know more about a person who has similar content on all websites. So the content has to be a little bit different for each article based ont he site.

However, I am not sure how we can do for videos. Today we use traffic geyser to promote the same video.
I am looking for ideas and solutions here
